Dr. Kaneko is back again teaching community classes in Santa Monica! It has been a few years since the Shiatsu Massage School of CA sadly closed but now he is partnering with the City of Santa Monica for the second time this year to teach one of 3 classes.
This workshop for parents and their kids will introduce you to Music Hands & Monkey Business exercises that Dr. Kaneko will be teaching in his 8 week series classes starting September 14-November 9 in Santa Monica.
Bring your kids and get the healing energies flowing in the 8 week series classes. For Music Hands, children will learn a different tapping technique on their parents for each day of the week, that will be practiced with song. This activity, based on a Japanese tradition, is a practical and hands on method to cultivate empathy, kindness and humility in children. Music Hands is also a great family bonding exercise.
Then with Monkey Business, children and parents will also learn 5 monkey mimicking exercises, each with a different laugh, that include jumping and rolling on the ground. Laughter, which causes the release of natural hormones, such as endorphins and oxytocin, help children and adults relax, feel happy and create positive relationships with those around them. Parent participation is required. Yoga mat or towel needed for one activity.
This workshop is $5 which will go to the City of Santa Monica for hosting our event. Onsite registration is available. Keep in mind the workshop and classes are in different locations.
